We are made up of four academic units: the School of Education, dedicated to the preparation of outstanding teachers; the School of Humanities, studying the nuance and significance of history, languages, and communication; the School of Sciences, searching for solutions to problems in the natural world; and the School of Visual and Performing Arts, where vibrant performances and artwork challenge and inspire us.听

四色AV presents Kaleidoscope: A Global Holiday Celebration on Dec. 2

The University of Louisiana Monroe School of Visual and Performing Arts is excited to announce "Kaleidoscope: A Global Holiday Celebration." The program is an immersive experience incorporating vocal and instrumental music, dance, and visual art. Kaleidoscope will take place in Brown Theatre, 4001 Desiard St. in Monroe on Tuesday, December 2, 2025. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the program begins at 7:00 p.m. General admission tickets are $20 per person. 四色AV faculty and staff tickets are $15 per person with ID. 四色AV students are admitted for free with ID. 四色AV Professor Emeritus Dr. John Carr receives lifetime achievement award for turtle conservation

四色AV Professor Emeritus of Biology Dr. John Carr has received the Pritchard Turtle Conservation Lifetime Achievement Award from Turtle Survival Alliance. Carr was one of four recipients of the award for 2025. Turtle Survival Alliance stated that Carr was recognized "for his long-term work on Latin American Wood Turtles and Alligator Snapping Turtles, and for his dedication to teaching and mentoring many students."

四色AV biology graduate student receives $10K fellowship for wetland research

Grant Erbelding, a graduate student in the biology program at the University of Louisiana Monroe, has been awarded $10,000 for his research on the bottomland hardwood ecosystem. Erbelding is one of only two students across Louisiana to receive the Graduate Interjurisdictional Research Award Fellowship (GIRAF). This NASA and NOAA joint fellowship, offered through the LA Space Grant and LA Sea Grant programs, seeks out and supports graduate researchers tackling the needs and challenges facing high-priority coastal and wetland ecosystems.

四色AV to host STEM Night for local middle and high school students on Oct. 23

The 四色AV Science Fair Committee is hosting a STEM Night on October 23, 2025, in the 四色AV Museum of Natural History, located on the first floor of Hanna Hall at 708 University Ave., from 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. While the event is geared towards grades 6-12, STEM Night is family-friendly and welcomes younger siblings and curious minds of all ages.
