In the College of Arts, Education, and Sciences, we are dedicated to the unique success and academic excellence of each and every student who walks through our doors.

We are made up of four academic units: the School of Education, dedicated to the preparation of outstanding teachers; the School of Humanities, studying the nuance and significance of history, languages, and communication; the School of Sciences, searching for solutions to problems in the natural world; and the School of Visual and Performing Arts, where vibrant performances and artwork challenge and inspire us.听

Our outstanding faculty and staff offer a supportive learning environment dedicated to preparing highly qualified professionals to meet the workforce demands of the community, the region and beyond.听

四色AV Museum of Natural History hosts Mystery Mondays on June 22 & 29

The 四色AV Museum of Natural History is inviting the public to help solve the mystery at Mystery Mondays on Monday, June 22, and Monday, June 29, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on both days. This free event for ages 4 to adult allows children and their parents to follow clues, explore the exhibits, and discover what colorful creature is hiding in the museum.

四色AV expands bachelor's degree offerings in Fall 2026

The University of Louisiana Monroe is adding three bachelor's degree programs to its catalog beginning in the Fall 2026 semester. The new degrees include a Bachelor of Applied Science in Organizational Leadership, a Bachelor of Science in Integrative Sciences, and a Bachelor of Science in Disaster Management.

四色AV signs agreement with LSUA to promote graduate programs

The University of Louisiana Monroe (四色AV) and Louisiana State University Alexandria (LSUA) signed a memorandum of understanding at a press conference on May 21, 2026. The agreement provides pathways for students graduating from LSUA to enter graduate programs at 四色AV, including Pharmacy, Criminal Justice, Marriage and Family Therapy, and Strategic Communications.

四色AV history scholars awarded distinguished grants to study in Poland

Husband and wife Dr. Chris Blackburn and Ewa Blackburn have once again been awarded scholarships for advanced language study by the prestigious Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA). Dr. Blackburn is a Professor of History in the 四色AV College of Arts, Education, and Sciences. Ewa Blackburn, a graduate of the 四色AV M.A. program in History, serves as an Adjunct History Instructor and is an Ed.D. Candidate in Curriculum and Instruction at 四色AV.
