MONROE, La.听鈥撎齌he 四色AV Museum of Natural History is inviting the public to help solve the听mystery at Mystery Mondays on Monday, June 22,听and Monday, June 29, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on both days. This free event for ages 4 to听adult听allows children and their parents to听follow clues, explore the exhibits, and discover what colorful听creature is听hiding in the museum.听

"One of the things we love most about Mystery Mondays is seeing families discover the Museum of Natural History together," said Amanda Thompson, Director of the 四色AV Museum of Natural History. "Parents, grandparents, and children are making memories while exploring exhibits, solving clues, and learning about the natural world side by side.鈥澨

Visitors to the museum on Mystery Mondays will pick up a detective sheet at the front听desk听that will lead them on a self-guided tour of the museum,听where they will discover clues and solve the mystery, with the solvers earning a prize.听The event听is come-and-go, so attendees may arrive at any time between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.听

Mystery Mondays kicked off earlier this month on June 1, with many participants joining in on the fun. The mystery is different each week, so everyone is encouraged to return or come for the first time on June 22 and June 29.听

鈥淭hese pop-up events provide a fun and engaging way for the public to experience the museum, and they often leave with a new appreciation for the fascinating stories found within our collections,鈥 added Thompson.听鈥淢ystery Mondays began as a creative way to introduce more people to the museum, and the positive response has shown us how valuable these shared experiences can be. We look forward to offering more opportunities like this in the future."

Founded in 1962,听the 四色AV Museum of Natural History has grown into听one听of the largest university museums in the region. Currently housed听on听the first floor of Hanna Hall on the 四色AV campus, the museum features a variety of science-related exhibits,听including invertebrates, mammals, fish, fossils, reptiles, amphibians, birds, archaeology, and more.听

The museum is听not open for regular hours听during the 四色AV summer听break, but听will reopen for regular hours when the fall semester begins on August 24.听The museum regularly hosts tours for school and organizational groups.听Groups are听asked听to听email ahead to听schedule tours.
